Why and when should you have a check-up

The answer to ‘when’ depends on your medical history, lifestyle, physical condition and family history. The more these elements suggest the existence of risk factors, the earlier you should have your first check-up.
Detect illnesses at an early stage
Even in the absence of any symptoms, the check-up can detect certain diseases that are already present, enabling you to treat them with maximum effectiveness.
Identify your risk factors
Diagnosing as soon as possible each individual’s unique risk factors is essential for preventing the appearance of serious or debilitating pathologies such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers, bone and joint disorders, etc.
Review your lifestyle choices
Your check up will also allow you to benefit from counselling on health practices, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle management, and modification of risk behaviour. All these positive factors will enable you to age well.
Complete medical assessment to safeguard the future
Led by the specialist in preventive medicine who will be your key contact, a multi-disciplinary team (radiologists, cardiologists, gynaecologists, etc.) will collaborate together for your check up. It is this multi-expertise that enables us to offer an exhaustive health check, customised to your specific medical needs.
Clear and complete report
After your check-up day, the physician will present and discuss the key information concerning your results and deliver his/her initial recommendations. Very shortly afterwards, you will receive a clear and detailed report on your check up including the strategies to safeguard your health capital.
Privileged access to the various specialists
If a pathology or abnormal results are detected, your physician will be able to organise quick access to the various medical specialists at our numerous clinics for a specialised consultation, additional examinations, or a treatment.
Well-planned organisation to limit time loss
Thanks to the on-site availability of equipment and specialists, in most cases your check-up will be conducted in a single day, at a single location. You will not have to endure a long wait between the various examinations and consultations.
Personalized and discreet reception in an exceptional environment
In a modern, comfortable and friendly environment, you will be welcomed in the strictest confidentiality and guided through all the steps of your check-up. You will appreciate the exceptional quality of patient care and all the services available. If desired, you can also book a room at the clinic for the length of your check-up.

What happens during a check-up

Welcome
Presentation of the day’s program and the key people, including your hostess and the physician in charge of your check-up, who will be your main contacts throughout the duration of your examinations.
Documents to bring
Please bring the results of your last medical consultations and examinations, if you have them.
Initial consultation
This first discussion with your doctor will enable the establishment of a detailed individual medical history (around 1.5 hours): symptoms, ongoing treatments, medical and family history, and the identification of risk factors. This step is followed by a full clinical examination. The physician will then have all the information required to orient the medical investigations that follow and then interpret the results.
Additional examinations
As this stage, a wide variety of diagnostic and also predictive tests will enable a detailed study of your body’s functions.
Blood and urine analyses
Various blood and urine markers help reveal biological changes related to certain conditions (hormonal imbalances, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, etc.) or which constitute risk factors that may compromise your state of health as you advance in age. This is often one of the first steps in your check-up program since samples must be taken on an empty stomach.
Medical imaging examinations
Depending on the program of your check-up, various imaging examinations (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT Scan) will enable your various organs to be directly visualized to ensure they are functioning correctly. Additional examinations may be conducted to complement these, on a case-by-case basis, after discussion with your physician. You will have direct access to the medical imaging centers at the clinics, which are all equipped with the latest generation instruments (CT Scan, PET Scan, Ultrasound, MRI, densitometer, etc.).
Function tests
These tests enable us to evaluate the functioning of your cardiovascular and respiratory systems and to identify possible abnormalities: effort test, ultrasound, spirometry, etc.
Specialised consultations
Depending on your specific needs, specialised consultations (ophthalmology, dermatology, ENT, etc.) will be proposed to you. For women, a gynaecology consultation and examination as well as mammography testing are integrated into our various check-ups. The results are transmitted to the physician in charge of your medical assessment for final consultation.
Final consultation and reports
The primary details of your results, along with the conclusions of the various specialised consultations, will be presented to you at the same time as the detailed medical recommendations. This consultation also gives us the opportunity to discuss a prevention plan to control risk factors that may compromise your health in the years to come.
Within 3 weeks, you will receive the final results of your check-up with the therapeutic and preventive strategies proposed to optimise your health capital. They will be accompanied by all the results of your analyses, and your medical images. Upon request, this report can be written in your language of choice.
